The Fish Bay team is lead by Dana Zentz.  Mr. Zentz is a seasoned energy market veteran, having negotiated numerous power purchase and power project related commercial and financing agreements.  He also been involved in the development of over 1600 MW wind and 300 MW of solar PV projects in the western USA.  His experience includes:

Managing Director, CEO of a utility scale solar PV generation project development firm.  Senior executive and Board Chair for joint venture between IPP and technology manufacturer.  Joint venture objective was to develop and monetize utility scale solar PV projects in the USA. 
  • Organization management, including P&L responsibility
  • Lead development of solar PV projects ranging in size from 3 MW to 100 MW  ​
  • Market off-take from solar project portfolio
  • Regular interface with JV owners and board of directors

Sr. Vice President, Commercial Development for an Independent Power Producer ("IPP") 
Responsible for commercial operations, business expansion, transaction origination, and negotiation of commercial agreements for a significant portfolio of IPP energy projects including wind, solar PV, concentrated solar thermal, carbon capture and sequestration, and natural gas generation.  Duties within this position included:
  • Served on the Board of Directors of the firm.
  • Relationship management for the Company with regard to its potential energy off-take counterparts, outside consultants, debt and equity providers and outside legal counsel.
  • Pricing and structuring of the Company’s product offerings.
  • Manage or lead negotiation of commercial agreements.
  • Generation interconnection and transmission agreement negotiation.
  • Financial modeling of energy projects.
  • Review of regulatory filings, ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Project Management of power project siting and permitting activities carried on by third party consultants and legal counsel.



Senior Director, Business Development – Natural Gas producer and marketing firm
Responsible for business expansion, natural gas purchase and sale transaction origination and contract negotiations for a regional natural gas marketing firm operating in the Western USA.

CEO – Inland Energy Consulting, Inc.   Founder of this firm, which was created to assist utilities, regulators and merchant firms in the energy industry.  Engagements and experiences include:
  • Marketing longer-term structured electric energy and natural gas products in the Western USA. 
  • Procurement of electric generation resources via RFP and bi-lateral negotiation process. 
  • Generation Project siting, development and permitting services for Independent Power Producers.
  • Authoring of electric and natural gas resource RFP documents, and administration of RFP processes.
  • Financial modeling of energy projects and power generation resources.
  • Evaluation of financial and physical risk and value of energy transactions.
  • Project management – electric transmission, electric generation, utility organization, utility asset purchases and sales, mergers and acquisitions, federal energy tax credit qualification and acquisition, utility accounting and utility rates.

Director, Western Markets – Marketing and Trading Company.  Responsible for transaction origination, managing client relationships and designing and pricing longer-term structured electricity and natural gas transactions in the Western USA.  This included developing and implementing the Company’s marketing plans and strategies and presentation of those plans to senior management.

Vice President (partner) - Regional Energy Consulting Firm   Responsible for operations, profit and loss and business development of the Spokane, WA branch office of a multi-disciplinary utility consulting firm.  In addition to various technical duties, supervised 8 professional staff and performed marketing and business development activities necessary to support the firm’s business objectives.


Vice President, Marketing for Utility Affiliated Power Marketing firm.  Responsible for origination of longer term power, natural gas, and ancillary services agreements in western USA markets.  Supervised a staff of 10 individuals engaged in power and gas marketing activities.  


Power Supply - Investor Owned Utility.  Various roles including wholesale power marketing, generation project siting and development.  Liaison with state regulatory agency regarding new generation, and negotiation of commercial agreements relating to power purchases and sales, ancillary services and gas fired power generation project development
